Little Gifts

2014. Soooooon.

Early in October I whipped up about a dozen of these to give out to my friends and family.
You've probably seen an assortment of these little hand warmers on Pinterest, they are filled with rice and were well received. (Seriously, they are far too cute.)

My ideas may not be original, but the amount of laughter these bearded hats caused was totally worth it. Seriously, I wish I had a picture of my mom sporting the look. Luckily my dad and soon to be brother-in-law appreciated their gifts with gusto.

Happy New Year everyone! I plan to spend more time with myself this year (a strange proclamation, and not to be taken with a creepy vibe) to recuperate and heal emotionally. Not that I'm dead inside or anything, but I gave so much of myself to 2013 that 2014 will be a little more selfish... and hopefully a little more productive for my crafts and hobbies! How about you?

The End of Another Year

To all of my followers, occasional readers, friends, and family,

I'm a terrible blogger.

This year has been a whirlwind of moving, training, and finally working. As such my blog became my last priority. Although set aside I still have a love of my little crafty corner. I will never close down entirely, but my posts will be terribly sporadic, if at all.

So I apologize for the missed emails, the unanswered questions, and the general way I've been ignoring anything and everything. I'm still crafting, and still writing, and even still obsessing over nerdy things, so my heart is in it, but my time is not!

I love you all for sticking with me. You guys are way more awesome than you give yourselves credit for. Here is some of my year's highlights to celebrate the things I DID manage to accomplish.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!

I did henna for my beautiful foundation instructor who helped
me become a yoga teacher. Her wedding was perfect.

I finally perfected various forms of headstand. This is me goofing off in one.

I went to Disneyland and no fun was had that day.
(I'm the grumpy one in the back, and actually that day was amazing.)

I made and sold hairbands that ACTUALLY hold my hair in place.
Still selling them actually!

My creative masterpiece of the year was a lovely crocheted Rainbow Dash.

And one of my proudest moments: meeting Patrick Rothfuss.
This guy really is as cool as he seems.
